SOPHIANNE K. ROBERTS (a.k.a. SKR) has dedicated her life to education. She is passionate about the instruction and promotion of the performing arts through education and entertainment. She is also passionate about promoting French education to boost both English and French fluency!

SKR has seen many of her alumni become successful in their performing arts endeavours and teaching professions. 

SKR's mission is "Quality and Passion" - to offer the highest level of instruction while sharing her passion for Dance, Drama, Music, Language, and Academic Enrichment.

SKR strives to make each and every experience a fun, challenging, and memorable one. She is kind, caring, approachable, professional, creative, and motivational.

Her classes challenge you and her enthusiasm lifts your spirits.

Sophianne is a local high school teacher and the proprietor of SKR. She founded the SKRSummer Programs in 1992 in the hopes of sharing her passion for the performing arts with young talent in her community and abroad.

A graduate of a Gifted French Performing Arts School, SKR later completed her Honours Specialist Bachelor of Fine Arts as well as her Bachelor of Education.

SKR continues to seek professional development opportunities through master classes and professional networking both in the arts and education.

SKR is a certified examiner who is excited about having had the opportunity to examine the first ever DELF exams in the DDSB in April 2014.

SKR's professional television/video credits include projects with/at Cable 12, TV Ontario, TVO La Chaîne, MCTV, YTV, Boombastic Productions, and Universal Studios California.

SKR’s community entertainment stage credits include Tri-Town Youth Entertainers, Temiskaming Live Theatre, DeLaSalle, Château Laurier Gala, York University, Uxbridge Musical Theatre, Edwin Allen Productions, various commission works, and volunteer community events such as Fairs and Festivals.

Sophianne is not only an accomplished dancer and choreographer, she is also a song writer and playwright. She has created, written, composed, and produced 6 original musical theatre productions, which have been toured in schools and/or performed by either her SKR Youth Company (transformed into Uxbridge Youth Theatre) or SKR Adult Company.

In 1997 she founded the SKR Fine Arts Program in Toronto Ontario which boasted some 300 students with a faculty of 5 instructors. As fate would have it, Sophianneand her husband bought a home in MtAlbert (north of Toronto) and discovered that there was interest and need to dance, sing and act in her new community. After a long search for just the right location, the SKR studio for the performing arts was designed by SKR and built by a local contractor! The studio was built specifically for the children of her new community who needed a proper dance facility to challenge their skills. It has become a welcoming and positive space for learners of all ages and strengths!

SKR believes in a non-competitive atmosphere where all learners can grow at their own pace... with reasonable challenges of course!

As growth and continual development are the main catalysts in SKR’s life, she is always seeking out new and interesting approaches to education. The underlying philosophy, however, always remains the same;

make learning fun and nurture a love for learning that will last a lifetime!

SKR is a pioneer, and openly shares her approaches and resources with other educators. She genuinely finds it rewarding to see other organizations and studios adopt many of the principals and methodologies that she has explored, tested and produced.

SKR’s devotion to equal opportunity is one of the reasons she offers numerous yearly scholarships. Since its conception, SKR has offered /donated close to $200,000.00 in scholarships and gratuitous education. In 2017, to celebrate Canada's 150, all courses are offered at $150.
